Privacy Policy

FlavorFile collects only what it needs to run the app. We don't sell your data or show ads.
What we collect

Who can see what
- Public account: anyone can see your profile and Liked list.
- Private account: only people you approve can see your Liked list.
- Always private: your Saved, Tried, Disliked and Not interested lists, your email, location and reports.
- Admins can see reported content and the edit history of menu items to keep the app safe and accurate.
Services we use
These companies process data for us, only to run FlavorFile:
- Google Firebase: accounts and sign-in
- Cloudflare: the database, photo storage, the website and shared-link pages, and server code
- Google Maps Platform (Places): looking up places when you search; your search words are sent to Google
- Apple and Google: sign-in, if you choose it, and push notifications
How long we keep it
- Your data stays while your account is open.
- Notifications are deleted after 30 days.
- When you delete your account, your profile, lists, notes and photos are deleted within 30 days. Menu items and prices you added stay, without your name, because others rely on them.
- Backups are cleared on their normal schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Download my data: get a copy of everything in Settings.
- Delete account: in Settings, any time.
- Edit or delete your notes, photos and profile whenever you like.
- Private account, location and notifications can be turned on or off in Settings or on your phone.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights, such as asking what we hold or objecting to how it's used. Contact us at laurengalicia@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
FlavorFile is not for children under 13. If we learn a child under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and passwords are never stored in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, so we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
